I’ve been involved in an accident, what should I do?
- Stop and stay calm
- Call 000 if anyone is injured or there is property damage
- Exchange name and address details with the other parties and witnesses
- Do not argue or admit fault
If your car is safe to drive contact Cobram Auto Body on 03 5872 2859 to arrange a safety inspection and estimate.
If your car cannot be driven call for towing on 0408 366 615 (24/7). Instruct the tow truck driver to deliver the car to Cobram Auto Body.
Can I choose who repairs my car?
Despite the extent of misleading information out there, YOU CAN choose your own repairer. It’s your right!

Do I need more than one quote?
No, generally not. Some insurance policies specify otherwise but this is becoming less common. We can assist with organising things when 2 quotes are required.
How long will it take to quote my car?
We need to inspect the vehicle gather some information and take a few photos to prepare a comprehensive quote. This takes about 10 mins. If you use our Quick Quote service then this is all the time you will need to spend.
What information does my insurance company need?
Your insurance company will need a completed claim form and details of the required repairs. We can help make this as smooth as possible with Cobram Auto Body’s Insurance Link.
How long will it take to repair my car?
Minor repairs, one panel or a bumper can be completed in 2 days. Larger or complicated repairs can take a bit longer. We will only book your car in when we are ready to commence work. Your repair co-coordinator will advise you of the expected repair duration and keep you informed all the way through the process. This is all part of our Repair Stream service.
Do you have loan cars?
Sometimes your insurer will pay for a rental vehicle while car is being repaired. We will help you with the policy fine-print to see if this is an option for you. We have a great relationship with local car rental agents. We can get discount rates and make sure that there is a vehicle waiting for when you drop yours off for repair.
Will I need to pay and excess?
In most cases your insurer will require the excess to be paid to process the claim. If the accident is found to be not your fault then this excess is refunded to you.
